About EPP

Goal
The Elite Performance Program will provide year round training to a targeted group of football players in New Brunswick. The Program was developed to further prepare players for regional, National and International Competition in hopes of increasing participation at the USports and AFL Level.
The program will be focused on developing the technical, tactical, physical and psychological skills required to excel at the regional, national and international level.

Who can Particpate?
EPP Participants will be selected primarily from our High Performance programs recognized by Football Canada (U18 Canada Cup & U16 Eastern Challenge teams). In addition, Regional (Minor Football/High School), and other players who have been involved in our other Football NB programs (e.g. Atlantic Bowl players) are also considered depending on availability. The Elite Performance Program will scout players from throughout the fall and spring seasons while working in consultation with coaches for identification purposes from around the province. Each December, only the first 60 players to accept their invitation will be able to participate in this fantastic year round program at the U18 and U16 levels (2003, 2004, & 2005 born players).

Elite Performance Program vs. High Performance Program
We understand that there could be some confusion around the Elite Performance Program and the High Performance Program. The Elite Performance Program is the yearlong program for our targeted athletes that have been identified as Elite for the age group. All Elite Performance athletes are targetted first from the previous year of our high performance teams and then in consultation with coaches at the regional Minor Football and High School levels. All athletes who have been targeted have been identified as having the potential to compete for the Football Canada National programs or have the potential to play at the USport Level.

The High Performance Program consists of our Provincial Teams programs that compete at the Football Canada Cup and Eastern Canadian Championships. All High Performance athletes have been identified by their coaches to try out for our Provincial Teams. The High Performance program aims at showcasing the best football talent New Brunswick has to offer on the National Level. The High Perfoamance programs  is designed to develop the elite football talent in New Brunswick through various phases, training opportunities and exposure. The program is overseen by both USport and High School coaches whose mission is to provide all players with the fundamental skills to help them achieve their full potential. Players are given the opportunity to execute these skills at a provincial and national level with and against some of the best players in the province and country. Every athlete leaves the program a better football player but also a better individual. The skills they learn transcend to the football field and are valuable far beyond their years of playing.
